Susan Slone Obituary

Susan Slone, age 70, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Ms. Slone was born in Albany, Georgia to James and Marion Strickland. She proudly graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s Degree and went on to pursue a career in Clinical Social Work. She was honored to work in her chosen career and retired in 2007. She enjoyed gardening immensely until her health declined. 

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her son, Scott (Tammy) Slone; her faithful and loyal companion, her golden retriever, Sadie; Sister-in-Law, Martha Strickland, and nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Marion Strickland; and brothers, Jimmy Strickland, and Cleve Strickland.      

A Celebration of Life service for Ms. Susan Slone will be held in the Chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Quitman on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 3:00pm.
