Richard Wayne Hart

August 2, 1955 ~ January 28, 2022 (age 66)

Obituary

Richard Wayne Hart, eldest son of Jerry and Margaret Hart of Valdosta, passed away January 28, 2022, in the early morning hours under the excellent care of the nurses and doctors at South Georgia Medical Center.  He fought hard to defeat his returned battle with cancer but the effects of COVID were too much to overcome.

Richard attended Valdosta High School then served in the U.S. Army with his close buddies at that time and became a sharpshooter/grenade specialist with the Ranger Division in Fort Dix, NJ.  After his military service he had a career in Safety Sprinkler Engineering with several companies but retired with Dean Fire Protection of Adel, GA.  He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his friends and loved ones.  He will be missed very much.

Rick was single and had no children at his passing.  He was preceded in death by his Father: Jerry; close Uncles: Jimmy, Sonny and Dickey Lewis.  He leaves behind his Mother: Margaret; Brothers: Wendy (Kim) Hart, Mike (Troylene) Hart; Aunt: Marty Brentise; Uncle: Donnie (Debbie) Hart; and a list of cousins.  He has 4 nephews and 2 nieces that he loved very much.

Visitation will be 10:00 am on Thursday, February 3, 2022, with the Service following at 11:00 am.  Minister John Chick of First Christian Church of Valdosta will be officiating.  Burial will be at 2:00 pm at Tallahassee National Cemetery.
