Horace James “Jimmy” Stahl of Quitman passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023.
Jimmy was a proud Christian family man who loved spending time with and cooking meals for his family, especially during the holidays. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed gardening with his grandkids.
Jimmy was a member of Hickory Head Baptist Church. He enjoyed quite a few hobbies. Some of his favorites were fishing (especially at St. George Island), raising chicken and quail, and hunting. He is also remembered as an avid FSU football fan!
After graduating from Brooks County High School, he attended Valdosta State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics. Jimmy worked for Badcock Furniture as an owner, manager, and sales representative. He also worked as a butcher and for Baker Pest Control.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Horace A. & Ruby Jones Stahl; sister: Barbara Grace Stahl; fur babies: Maggie & Hal.
Jimmy is survived by his wife: Kim Stahl; children: Amber (Jody) Loyd, Chris Stahl, Jessica (Vickie) Warren, Daniel (Lea) Warren, & Allison Warren; siblings: Becky (Lanny) Pike, Bobby (Tammy) Stahl, & Elizabeth (David) Hammett; grandchildren: Greg Stahl, Nora Jean Loyd, Nickie Dugans, Corey Myers, Jazzi Clark-Pickels, Traci-Ann Pickels, Luke Warren, Noah Warren, Easton Warren, Bella Griffith, & Jay Griffith; great-grandchildren: Isabelle Dugans, Courtney Dugans, Beau Dugans, Rylan Franzlubbers, Emory Myers, Kylie Myers, Gracie Myers, and Easton Myers; and fur babies: Elsa & Anna.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Quitman. Funeral services are Thursday, March 2 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Head Baptist Church. Committal will be immediately following the funeral service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
