Ronald "Ron" Davis

March 8, 1940 — July 16, 2025

Ronald (Ron) Davis passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on July 16, 2025, surrounded by love and marked by family, service, adventure, and a strong sense of humor.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeffney Davis of Valdosta, GA; his sister, Donna Smith; his children, Kimberly Somerville-Haugen of Minnesota, Steffanie Davis of Texas, and Trey Griffin of Georgia; seven cherished grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson and his younger brother.

Ron was an Eagle Scout and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country and achieving the rank of Seaman (E-3) aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard. He was a Ham Radio Operator, known by the call sign K5MKB. Ron was a motorcycle officer at South Houston Police Department in Texas, where he served with honor and retired in 2002. After retirement he joined the Patriot Guard Riders of Florida.

Ron loved the open road, riding his Honda Gold Wings, camping, kayaking, biking, and enjoying music.  He loved his dogs and had a soft heart for any living creature.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of fellowship and light refreshments from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Following that, we'll share stories and memories from Ron's life - with plenty of laughter, just the way he would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org, the Patriot Guard Riders at www.patriotguard.org, or a veterans' charity of your choice, in Ron's honor.

Warren Funeral Services of Quitman is honored to serve the Davis family during this time.
