Minnie Pearl (Asbell) Hunnewell

Minnie Pearl Asbell Hunnewell of Quitman passed away Monday, February 20, 2023.

Minnie was a wonderful mother and homemaker and a certified nursing assistant for over 20 years at The Presbyterian Home. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and crocheting. She once crocheted the 23rd Psalm, which took a year to complete. She enjoyed quilting in her younger years.

She was known for making blackberry jelly and canning. She loved flowers and gardening. Spending time outdoors, she enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds. Christmas was her favorite holiday.

Living 100 years, she saw a lot of changes in life, including the rebirth of the nation of Israel.

Survivors are a daughter Ellen Barnes of Quitman, Sons Eddie (Ernestine) Hunnewell of Waynesville, Ga, Chuck (Nancy) Hunnewell of Rincon, Ga, George (Robin) Hunnewell of Donaldsonville, Ga, C.W. (Reynia) Hunnewell of Waverly, Ga, 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs Hunnewell was preceded in death by her parents William and Mattie Asbell, her husband Charlie W. Hunnewell, Sr, a son Bobby Hunnewell, Grandchildren Nina Faye Hunnewell, Philip Barnes, Tracy Leigh Hunnewell, 4 Brothers and 4 Sisters, Son-in-Law Melvin Barnes, and Daughter in law Helen Hunnewell.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of the service.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 25 at the chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Quitman with Reverend Steven Haineault officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Morven.
