James "Jimmy" Scruggs

James "Jimmy" Scruggs, 65, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away Monday, June 24, 2024.

Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being on the family land. He loved his daughter deeply. He never met a stranger and definitely lived life to the fullest. Jimmy enjoyed gathering with friends and always had a fish fry at the little house. He was an amazing story teller. In later years, Jimmy was known as "Cowboy."

He is survived by his daughter, Ashli Scruggs and his former wife, Laurie Scruggs.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents George and Laura Scruggs, and his brother, George Scruggs.

A special memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at 470 Lazy River Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602, the old home place. Please come and share your favorite "Jimmy" stories with friends and family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please plant a tree or make a donation in Jimmy's honor to the Humane Society of Valdosta.
