James Randy Higgs

James "Randy" Higgs of Quitman entered into rest on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Higgs was the son of the late Charles and Mary McGaha Higgs.

Randy was a person with a big heart that was always willing to lend a hand and help folks out. Randy loved to hunt and fish and his fish fry's were said to be the best. Randy was a butcher and loved what he did. A big part of the enjoyment of his job was being able to help the people he served.

Randy was full of life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was to read. He was particularly fond of the Louis L'amour books and he was a big fan of rock & roll.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Linda Jenkins of Valdosta, and Sherry Higgs Davidson of Quitman, his brother and sister-in-law Charles L. and Janice Higgs of Tifton, his sister-in-law Deana Reed-Smith of Valdosta, his loving nephew Brock Reed of Valdosta, several very loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Mr. Higgs was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Wendall Higgs and Bobby Higgs.
