James "Richard" Bledsoe

James Richard Bledsoe, lovingly known as Richard to friends and affectionately called "Ribs" by his siblings and family passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA, at the age of 76. Born on September 11, 1948, in Macon, GA, Richard lived a life filled with love, humor, and dedication.

Richard worked for 25 years at Comcast Cable Company, where his commitment and hard work earned him the respect of colleagues and friends. After his well-earned retirement, he embraced the things he loved most: coaching softball and spending time outdoors. As a softball enthusiast, Richard shared his love of this game with others, teaching and inspiring along the way. He also found great joy and peace in hunting and fishing, hobbies that connected him to nature and brought him cherished moments of tranquility.

Known for his quick wit, warm smile, and unwavering kindness, Richard was a beloved presence in the lives of his family and friends. At a young age he trusted Christ to be his Lord and Savior and that made a difference in him throughout his entire life. He was a selfless man, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Whether it was offering guidance, support, or simply a listening ear, Richard's generosity and compassion was unmatched. To his siblings, "Ribs" was more than a brother- he was a confidant and a source of countless fond memories.

Richard is survived by one brother, David Bledsoe. Also by three children, Wendy(Ross) Cook of Hahira, GA, Todd(Ruby) Bledsoe of Waycross, GA, and Savannah Bledsoe of Valdosta, GA. He was also a grandpops of eight grandchildren, Kylie, Kolbie, Kate, Madison, Ethan, Jase, Kinsley, and Kadonis. He was also preceded in death by his parents Ezra and Daisy Bledsoe, siblings Norma, Emory, Joe, Larry, and Junior.

A celebration of Richard's life will take place on Saturday, December 7 th , at (time) at (location). Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and honoring a man whose impact will never be forgotten. James "Richard" Bledsoe, or "Ribs", to those who knew him best, leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial Service will be held at CrossPointe Church on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM. The Memorial service wil take place by the pond.
